Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated and mechanically inclined Apprentice Door Installer to join our security installation team. This hands-on role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with tools, problem-solving, and learning skilled trades. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, you will assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and residential security doors, frames, hardware, and related access products.

No prior experience in door installation is required — we will train the right person who brings a great attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Service Support

• Assist lead installers with installing, adjusting, and repairing doors, frames, and hardware
• Help with the installation of security doors, fire-rated doors, hollow metal doors, storefront doors, and related components
• Support the setup of hinges, closers, panic bars, electronic locks, and mechanical hardware
• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment at job sites

Learning & Skill Development

• Learn proper techniques for measuring, drilling, anchoring, and aligning door systems
• Follow step-by-step instruction from senior technicians to develop trade skills
• Gain knowledge of safety procedures, building codes, and product specifications

Job Site Assistance

• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist with documentation, basic paperwork, or inventory tracking as needed
• Follow all company safety practices and use tools/equipment properly
• Interact professionally with customers on job sites

Qualifications

• MUST PASS A PRE EMPLOYMNET BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG SCREEN!!!
• MUST HAVE A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD!!!
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning a skilled trade
• Ability to use or learn hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
• Reliable transportation to job sites or company shop
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work on ladders as needed
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to follow instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred but Not Required

• Experience in construction, carpentry, maintenance, or related trades
• Familiarity with commercial doors, frames, or security hardware
• Knowledge of basic safety practices and job-site etiquette

Work Environment

• Field-based position with daily travel to customer locations
• Indoor/outdoor work in a variety of settings (commercial, residential, industrial)
• Hands-on, physical work requiring lifting, bending, standing, and tool use
• Direct support and training from experienced door and hardware technicians
