Lawn care and equipment operator

Job Description:
As a lawn care and equipment operator with our excavation and landscaping company, you will be involved in a variety of tasks to support our skilled crew members and ensure smooth operations on job sites. This is a physically demanding role that requires hands-on work, attention to safety, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with excavation and digging tasks, including the operation of basic machinery (e.g., shovels, rakes, hand tools).
• Prepare and maintain landscaping materials, such as soil, mulch, gravel, and plants.
• Load and unload equipment, materials, and debris from trucks and job sites.
• Help with the installation of hardscapes (e.g., patios, retaining walls, walkways).
• Assist in grading and leveling land to prepare for construction or landscaping features.
• Clear and remove brush, trees, rocks, or other debris from work areas.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites, including the proper disposal of waste.
• Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Perform other manual labor tasks as assigned to ensure timely project completion.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in general labor, landscaping, or excavation is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment used in landscaping or excavation.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude toward learning new skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to take direction.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
