Security Systems Technician

Advanced Programming • Long-Term Contract Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled security systems technician with advanced programming and troubleshooting experience. This role is intended for technicians who go beyond surface-level installs and understand how systems are meant to function in real-world environments.

This is a long-term contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. It is best suited for someone who values technical accuracy, clean programming, and long-term system reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Program and configure commercial and residential alarm systems from the ground up

  • Build and modify system logic including zones, partitions, users, outputs, communication paths, and reporting functions

  • Review, correct, and optimize existing configurations to align with site-specific needs

  • Troubleshoot wiring, device, and programming issues across both newer and legacy systems

  • Service, repair, and modernize existing security systems as required

  • Properly handle multi-function systems and ensure correct system separation where applicable

  • Interpret wiring diagrams, control panel documentation, and existing field conditions

Required Experience

  • Demonstrated experience programming alarm systems beyond default or template-based configurations

  • Strong understanding of alarm system logic, timing, reporting behavior, and overall system operation

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and service older installed systems

  • Solid working knowledge of hardwired devices, keypads, relays, and communication equipment

  • Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and resolve issues in the field

Additional Notes

This is not a high-volume, quick-install role. Technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to think through complex situations are essential. The right technician will be trusted to diagnose problems accurately and implement long-term solutions—not temporary fixes.

Qualified candidates with proven, hands-on experience are encouraged to apply for this long-term opportunity with potential for permanent placement.
