Job Title: Machine Operator

Pay Range: $18–$25/hour (based on experience)
Location: South County, MO
Employment Type: Contract, Contract-to-Hire, and Direct Hire
Shift Availability: 1st, 2nd, and some weekend shifts (varies by client)

About the Opportunity

We partner with several manufacturing and production facilities in South County, MO that are actively seeking reliable Machine Operators with experience. These companies are looking for operators who understand machine safety, can hold tolerances, and take pride in consistent production.

Core Responsibilities

(Specific machines vary by client, but qualified candidates will have experience in several of the following)

Set up and operate production machinery in a manufacturing environment
Operate press brakes, shears, punch presses, stamping presses, or packaging machines
Load raw materials and unload finished parts or packaged product
Read and follow work orders, blueprints, travelers, and job specs
Make basic machine adjustments to maintain quality and throughput
Perform in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Identify defects and report issues to leads or supervisors
Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Preferred Hard Skills

1–3+ years of machine operating experience in manufacturing or production
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:

Press brake
Shear
Punch press or metal stamping press
Packaging or converting machinery

Ability to read measurements, tolerances, and job specifications
Experience using basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometer)
Strong understanding of machine safety and lockout/tagout procedures

Preferred Skills (Client-Dependent)

CNC press brake experience
Coil-fed or progressive stamping experience
Changeover and setup experience
Forklift or material handling experience
Production or quality documentation experience

Work Environment

Manufacturing and production shop floors
Standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs
Fast-paced, team-oriented environments with production goals
