Job SummaryThe Inventory Specialist is responsible for tracking, managing, and optimizing inventory levels to ensure accurate stock records and smooth operations. This role plays a key part in preventing shortages, reducing excess inventory, and supporting purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records in inventory management systems
Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of inventory
Prepare inventory reports and analyze trends (usage, shrinkage, turnover)
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
Recommend process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Previous experience in inventory, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain roles
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency with inventory software and basic Excel skills
Ability to lift and move inventory as required
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills
Experience with inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
Knowledge of inventory control best practices
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
