Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee PM shift operations within our food manufacturing and packaging facility. This role is responsible for supervising production teams, ensuring efficient output, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The Production Manager will review production reports, schedules, and sales orders to evaluate performance, improve productivity, and ensure compliance with FDA, HACCP, GMP/SQF, and customer specifications. This position also plays a key role in employee development, engagement, and maintaining a positive, high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise PM shift employees involved in manufacturing and packaging operations

Coordinate production flow and output across departments and with other supervisors

Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, food safety, and quality standards

Develop production schedules, assignments, and sequences to meet daily goals

Monitor equipment performance and production indicators to ensure standards are met

Inspect materials, products, and equipment to identify defects or malfunctions

Train employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and work standards

Interpret work orders, specifications, and company policies for production teams

Review production schedules, work orders, and reports to determine requirements and output

Address employee concerns and escalate/resolution with Plant Manager as needed

Recommend and implement improvements to productivity, quality, and efficiency

Support hiring, evaluations, promotions, and employee performance actions

Maintain readiness for audits and implement corrective/improvement actions

Partner with leadership and Sales to support customer satisfaction and resolve concerns

Ensure operational compliance with HACCP, FDA regulations, and internal safety programs
Qualifications

Bilingual required: English & Spanish (read/write/speak)

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred

5–7 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing and/or packaging

Strong knowledge of food safety systems and compliance:

Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and production performance

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including group communication

Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving ability

Experience with continuous improvement and process optimization

Strong computer skills: Excel, Outlook, internet tools, basic math for production metrics

Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
This role is based in a production environment and requires walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
