About the Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Metallurgy Technician to support metallurgical testing and sample preparation. This is an entry-level–friendly role ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, organized, and eager to learn in a laboratory environment. Training is available for candidates with strong aptitude and attention to process.

Job Duties

• Prepare metallurgical samples including cutting, grinding, mounting, and polishing

• Operate saws and other laboratory equipment for sample preparation

• Perform metallurgical testing and evaluation such as:

  • Microhardness testing

  • Microstructural and macro-etching analysis

  • Coating and plating examinations

  • Grain size and case depth testing

• Accurately document results and follow testing procedures

• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly laboratory workspace

• Follow established processes and safety protocols

• Assist with additional testing or lab tasks as directed

• Support overtime as needed based on workload

Requirements

• High school diploma required

• Associate degree or coursework in metallurgy, mechanics, or related science preferred but not required

• 1–3 years of lab or related hands-on environment preferred

• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity

• High attention to detail and ability to follow processes precisely

• Comfortable multitasking in a production or lab setting

• Basic computer skills, including Excel and lab software

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

• Willingness to learn and jump in where needed
