We are partnering with a thriving, local, non-profit organization that is seeking a dedicated and experienced part-time, Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of our organization. This part-time leadership role provides financial oversight, ensures sound fiscal practices, and partners closely with the District Manager, Board of Directors, and staff to support the long-term financial health of the organization. This role requires someone to operate at both the strategic and hands-on, tactical levels. This is a hybrid work environment that must be based in Central Oregon.
What You Get to Do!
• Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
• Develop and manage annual budgets in coordination with program staff and the Board.
• Monitor cash flow, grants, contracts, and other funding sources to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and funder requirements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Board and leadership team.
• Manage financial policies and procedures to promote strong internal controls and transparency.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance to support strategic decisions and long-range planning.
• Work directly with external partners (e.g., auditors, banks, grant administrators).
• Serve as Budget Officer for state budgeting
What You Will Bring…
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit, local government, or special district environments.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, budget development, and financial reporting.
• Experience with grants management and compliance reporting is a plus.
• Knowledge of Oregon State Budget Law.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences, including a governing board.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
• Strategic thinking with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player who works well with staff, Board members, and community partners.
• High integrity with commitment to fiscal transparency and accountability.
