Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a reputable Property Management Company and  manage the day-to-day accounting operations for our property management portfolio of approximately 500 doors, including single-family homes and commercial properties. This role requires strong property management accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with AppFolio.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable handling multiple properties, owners, and accounts while maintaining compliance and clear financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of ~500 residential and commercial units

• Process and reconcile transactions using AppFolio

• Record rent payments, owner contributions, vendor payments, and security deposits

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements for property owners

• Perform bank and trust account reconciliations

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Track and reconcile operating accounts, reserve accounts, and security deposits

• Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking

• Coordinate with property managers regarding financial questions and discrepancies

• Support year-end reporting and provide documentation for tax preparation and audits

• Ensure compliance with trust accounting and property management regulations

Qualifications & Requirements

• Required: Hands-on experience with AppFolio

• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience preferred

• Strong understanding of property management accounting principles

• Experience managing multiple properties and owner statements

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Ability to manage deadlines and high transaction volumes

• Strong communication skills and professionalism
