CNC Machine Operator

Position Summary:

We are currently hiring a reliable and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our team in a high-volume industrial steel fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy-duty machinery used in the processing and fabrication of structural and industrial steel components. This role is essential to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate fabrication machinery such as CNC plasma/laser cutters, press brakes, drill lines, saws, beam lines, and shears.

• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.

• Read and follow blueprints, job orders, and work instructions to produce parts to specification.

• Monitor machine performance, inspect finished parts, and make minor adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and quality.

• Work closely with the machine programmer to ensure files and setup parameters are correctly followed.

• Perform routine maintenance checks, clean equipment, and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.

• Accurately complete production logs, quality control records, and time tracking.

• Adhere to all company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Support team members with general shop tasks and assist in other fabrication areas as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, squares), and material handling equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding industrial environment.

• Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication industries.

• Forklift or crane operation certification.

• Familiarity with CNC controls and basic troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

• Lift and maneuver heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) with or without assistance.

• Work in conditions involving noise, heat, sparks, and exposure to steel dust and grease.
