Position Summary:
A client of ours in Sherwood is seeking a detail-oriented Masking Technician to join their finishing department. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in masking, surface preparation, and finishing processes for machined metal parts. This role is essential in ensuring parts meet strict customer and industry specifications for aerospace and defense applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply masking materials (tapes, paints, plugs, caps, etc.) to precision-machined parts prior to coatings, plating, or surface treatments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and process instructions to determine masking requirements.
• Perform surface cleaning and preparation to ensure adhesion and finish quality.
• Inspect masked parts for accuracy and completeness before processing.
• Remove masking materials post-processing without damaging finished surfaces.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense quality standards (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in masking/finishing for aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions.
• Familiarity with coatings, plating, and surface treatment processes a plus.
• Ability to handle delicate and high-value components with care.
• Good manual dexterity and steady hand for precision masking.
• Must be a U.S. Person (due to ITAR regulations).
