About the Role

The Warehouse Helper & Donation Pickup Driver is responsible for safely operating a box truck to collect food donations from partner organizations, assisting with warehouse operations, and ensuring food is handled, stored, and distributed with care.

Key Responsibilities

Donation Pickup & Transportation

• Drive a box truck to pick up food donations from grocery stores, community partners, and special events.
• Load and unload donations safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate pickup logs and communicate any issues or delays.
• Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good working condition; report maintenance needs promptly.

Warehouse Operations

• Sort, inspect, and organize incoming donations according to food safety guidelines.
• Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and assist with preparing food orders for distribution.
• Keep warehouse areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
• Assist with volunteer groups as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle preferred (training available).
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs repeatedly and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Commitment to the mission of serving the community and supporting food security.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced warehouse setting with regular lifting, bending, and moving of goods.
• Indoor/outdoor work in varying weather conditions during donation pickups.
