Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Field Technician for a respected local surveying and mapping firm in the Flathead Valley. This position offers a unique blend of outdoor fieldwork and office-based drafting—perfect for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and technical problem‑solving.
Pay: $20 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Flathead Valley

Lead, supervise, and train survey crews in the field
Perform and oversee a variety of field surveying tasks
Complete and review survey drafting to support project deliverables
Coordinate project activities and communicate effectively with the Field Operations Coordinator
Ensure all work is completed with accuracy, safety, and efficiency
High‑quality, precise survey data and drawings
Safe and efficient field operations
Strong teamwork and technical guidance for less experienced crew members
Smooth coordination between field and office tasks
Experience in land surveying with proven field leadership responsibilities
Proficiency with modern survey instruments (total stations, GPS/GNSS, data collectors)
Ability to produce accurate survey drawings and maps
Strong understanding of field procedures, drafting practices, safety, and quality standards
Experience with drafting software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D
Ability to read and interpret survey plans, maps, and technical documents
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and mentoring abilities
Dependable, detail‑oriented, and committed to high‑quality work
Ability to lift 50–100 lbs
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Valid ID required for travel to job sites
Balanced mix of field and office work
