A Material Handler plays a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials, parts, and products to support production, shipping, and inventory operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment
• Accurately pick, pack, and stage materials for production or shipment
• Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are properly labeled
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, quantity discrepancies, or quality issues
• Deliver materials to production lines as needed to support workflow
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area
• Update logs, inventory systems, or handheld scanners to track material movement
• Collaborate with warehouse, production, and shipping teams to meet daily goals

 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous warehouse or material-handling experience preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to obtain certification
• Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory tracking
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

Work Environment

• Warehouse or manufacturing setting
• Standing, walking, lifting, and operating equipment throughout the shift
• May require overtime, weekends, or shift flexibility depending on production needs
