A growing public accounting firm is seeking an experienced, client-focused Accounting Manager / Bookkeeping Manager to lead its Client Accounting Services (CAS) team. Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee a team of three bookkeepers, manage onboarding for new clients, review monthly financials, and collaborate directly with firm partners. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to identify workflow improvements and efficiencies across the accounting tech stack.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3 bookkeepers
• Oversee daily accounting operations for multiple business clients
• Manage and enhance client onboarding processes
• Maintain strong, proactive client communication
• Review financial statements, accrual entries, and reconciliations
• Navigate complex accounting topics when needed
o Accrual accounting
o Deferred revenue
o Percentage of completion / WIP / WHIP accounting
• Recommend and implement automation improvements within accounting workflows
• Ensure quality control, documentation consistency, and strong internal processes
• Report directly to the partners and collaborate on team and client strategy

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• 2+ years of staff management experience
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Strong, assertive leadership style with a self starter mindset
• Ability to learn new software platforms quickly

• Tax knowledge or prior experience working in a public accounting firm
• Familiarity with creating or optimizing automated accounting workflows
