Position Overview

The Medical Biller will handle the full medical billing cycle, including claims submission, insurance verification, payment posting, and follow-up on outstanding accounts. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, proactive, and experienced in healthcare or durable medical equipment (DME) billing.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate medical claims (commercial, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance).
• Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance requirements.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve issues quickly.
• Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts.
• Communicate with patients, insurance carriers, and internal departments.
• Maintain organized billing records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with audits, reporting, and month-end billing tasks.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of medical billing experience (DME or healthcare setting preferred).
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Familiarity with insurance portals and billing/claims software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Medicare/Medi-Cal billing experience is a plus.
