A manufacturing company in Chesapeake is seeking CNC Machinists to join their team. This role is open to entry-level and experienced candidates. The ideal candidate will set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce precision components using CAD software. The position offers hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing equipment, a dynamic work environment, and opportunities for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications to ensure accuracy.

• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM) to verify tolerances.

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine or tooling issues.

• Select and adjust tooling and fixtures for optimal machining performance.

• Conduct quality checks during production to meet specifications.

• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes using lean principles.

• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all safety protocols.

• Assist with assembly or material handling tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Experience with CNC machining or manufacturing is a plus, but entry-level candidates are welcome.

• Familiarity with CAD software for part review and setup, is a plus. 

• Ability to read technical drawings and understand basic mechanical principles.

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and measuring instruments.

• Basic math skills for dimensions and tolerances.

• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or on a team.

Compensation: $14–$22/hour based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

OT is offered after 30 days of employment...
