Full Job Description

A well-established insurance office in Salem, OR is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Customer Service & Sales Representative to join the team. This role blends relationship-based customer service with consultative sales, supporting both new and existing clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers via phone and in person

• Answer phones and provide reception and data entry support as needed

• Build, maintain, and strengthen customer relationships through proactive follow-up

• Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service

• Educate customers on insurance products and coverage options

• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions

• Cross-sell and recommend appropriate product lines based on customer needs

• Connect with potential customers and prospects within the Salem area

• Create and maintain a local business and client network

• Develop leads, schedule appointments, and follow up on opportunities

• Support sales efforts by generating quotes, following up on leads, and closing business

• Assist with policy inquiries including availability, eligibility, changes, transfers, claims, and billing clarification

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Compensation & Perks

• Hourly pay of $20–$25, based on experience

Requirements

• Property & Casualty license (must be able to obtain within 30 days)

• Life & Health license (must be able to obtain within 30 days)

• Sales and/or customer service experience preferred

• Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills

• Self-motivated and results-driven

• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through

• Proactive problem-solving skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Ability to assess customer needs and confidently recommend solutions
