Pay: $85,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year

Pay Ranges:

• Engineering Manager (7+ years): $120,000–$160,000
• Automation Controls Engineer (2–7 years): $85,000–$110,000
• Compensation based on level hired

This isn’t a backfill it’s a brand-new position in Chenango County created to bring automation expertise in-house for the first time. What You’ll Do

• Lead or support process improvement initiatives, including line layout optimization and throughput enhancements.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and HMI systems (Rockwell preferred; other platforms welcome).
• Work hands-on with fillers, sanitation systems, and food manufacturing equipment.
• Design or modify layouts using CAD or SolidWorks.
• Manage or contribute to CAPEX projects, depending on level.
• Support production teams with automation troubleshooting and system upgrades.
• Maintain backups, documentation, and compliance across all automation systems.

What You Bring

• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
• Background in food or dairy manufacturing (highly preferred).
• Experience with fillers, sanitation equipment, or similar processing systems.
• Ability to design layouts and improve processes using CAD/SolidWorks.
• Leadership and project management skills for manager-level candidates.
• Possess a working knowledge of RS Logix 500, Studio 5000, RS linx Classic, Factory Talk Linx , and Factory Talk Studio.

• Rockwell Automation (preferred)
• Able to work with Automation Direct HMIs C-More HMI software.
