Compensation

• Salary Range: $650/wk, depending on experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a spiritually mature and operationally minded leader to serve as our 2026 Summer Day Camp Director. This individual will oversee all aspects of our non-denominational Christian day camp, fostering a Christ-centered environment where staff and campers grow in their faith. The Director, in collaboration with the executive director, is responsible for cultivating our Christ-based culture while managing complex camp operations and diverse teams of staff and volunteers. 

Key Responsibilities

• Spiritual Leadership: Model a Christ-like life and ensure all curriculum and teaching sessions align with biblical truth and the camp’s mission. Lead daily devotions for staff and facilitate spiritual growth among campers.
• Leadership & Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise all levels of seasonal staff and volunteers. Provide ongoing feedback, conflict resolution, and mentorship to foster a healthy team culture.
• Program Management: Plan and execute a daily schedule of high-energy, age-appropriate recreational and educational activities, including special events and field trips.
• Operations Management: Oversee daily logistics, including camper check-in/out, facility upkeep, and supply procurement while adhering to the camp budget.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain the highest standards of health and safety for all participants, ensuring compliance with Michigan state licensing and camp-specific emergency protocols. 

Qualifications

• Spiritual Maturity: A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to servant leadership.
• Leadership Experience: Confidence in decision making and leadership that inspires others to follow.
• Skills: Strong organizational abilities, excellent parent/public communication skills, pastoral skills, and proficiency in basic office software for record-keeping.
• Requirements: Must pass a comprehensive background check and be available for the full duration of the season (May 4 – August 1, 2026).
