Staff Accountant 

 

Pay: $55,000-$75,000 based on experience
Direct Hire 

Schedule is Hybrid - 3 days in office 

Our client in the northern Lake County area is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join a small, fast-paced finance team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and proper application of customer payments. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and expert-level Excel skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review customer invoices
• Uitlize high level Microsoft Excel functions to organize data for analysis and action
• Perform cash posting and AR collection activities
• Perform cost and profitability analysis
• Coordinate with and support cross functonal teams to allow for rapid, accurate, and efficient
  billing and month-end closing
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Review analysis and results with accounting and non-accounting personnel
• Reconcile general ledger (GL) accounts, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support accounts payable (AP) functions as needed
• Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis
•  Serve as main point of contact for annual audit and month-end closing process
•  Assist with process improvements and system enhancements
• Other duties as assigned and necessary

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• 0–3 years of accounting or related experience
• Expert knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
• Experience with financial reporting or audits
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience (preferred)
