Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports production by studying manufacturing processes, conducting time studies, and helping establish accurate labor standards. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Production, and Finance.
Create basic process maps and break jobs into standard work elements
Plan and prepare time studies (method, sample size, data collection)
Coordinate with Planning and Production to schedule time studies during live runs
Perform time studies on the shop floor using approved methods
Identify factors that affect cycle time (changeovers, delays, rework, staffing, etc.)
Verify data accuracy and flag abnormal conditions
Provide time study results to Finance for labor costing and analysis
Maintain clear documentation for review and audit purposes
Experience performing time studies in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of process mapping and work measurement
Comfortable working with Production, Planning, and Finance teams
Proficient in Excel (data entry, pivot tables, basic analysis)
Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts
Associate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or technician role

Ability to communicate effectively with operators, engineers, and supervisors
Ability to perform basic math and interpret data
Ability to perform statistical analysis related to time studies
Ability to stand for long periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Good vision and ability to work with small parts
Required use of PPE and strict adherence to safety rules
