Material Handler II/Forklift Operator

Location: Bannockburn, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00am–7:00pm
Pay: $20–$22 per hour (based on experience)

Job Overview

The Material Handler II is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials, products, and goods within the warehouse and distribution environment. This role focuses on organizing inventory, transporting items safely, supporting production needs, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. The ideal candidate will be experienced in material handling equipment and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and other vehicles while ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Organize, stock, and store materials according to company procedures and inventory control practices.
  • Assist with regular inventory counts and update inventory management systems accurately.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment or production use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform basic quality checks on materials and products.
  • Assist with labeling, tagging, and completion of documentation for materials.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and material flow.
  • Report damaged or defective materials to supervisors.
  • Ability to operate and work with AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency with forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment (certification preferred).
  • Basic understanding of inventory control systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations.
  • Ability to pass an onsite PIE assessment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience with barcoding or RFID systems.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent lifting, bending, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional work in outdoor or cold-storage areas.
