Paralegal / Legal Intake Specialist (Pre-Litigation)

Location: Newark, NJ (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Compensation: $50,000–$60,000 base + bi-weekly incentive bonuses
Total Compensation: $70,000–$85,000 annually (with bonuses)
Spanish speakers eligible for additional annual compensation


Overview

A well-established legal organization is seeking a Paralegal / Legal Intake Specialist to support pre-litigation personal injury and mass tort claims. This role is ideal for experienced legal call center, intake, or claims professionals who excel at high-volume claimant communication while maintaining accuracy, empathy, and organization.

This is a full-time, on-site position working directly with claimants and internal legal teams to move cases forward efficiently prior to litigation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for claimants throughout the pre-litigation process

  • Conduct intake interviews and follow-up calls with individuals involved in personal injury, defective product, or environmental exposure claims

  • Guide claimants through required steps while providing consistent updates and support

  • Coordinate and follow up on the collection of medical and case-related records

  • Review and organize medical records and supporting documentation

  • Maintain accurate case notes and updates in legal case management systems

  • Communicate case status and relevant information to attorneys and supervisors

  • Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, and data entry


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required

  • 1+ year of experience in a legal intake, call center, claims, personal injury, or insurance-related role

  • Strong phone presence with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally and empathetically

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable managing multiple cases in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

  • Proficient with CRM or legal case management software

  • Spanish fluency a plus
