Truck Driver (Class A CDL)

Salary: $20/hr-$22/hr

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Truck Driver to support operations at its Lafayette, Indiana location. This role is responsible for the safe transportation of construction equipment, materials, and finished products to and from job sites, vendors, and customer locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while representing the company in a professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment, materials, and finished products to designated locations

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with all DOT, federal, state, and local regulations

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance or safety concerns

• Properly secure loads using chains, straps, binders, and other required equipment to prevent shifting or damage during transport

• Coordinate delivery schedules with project managers, dispatch, and job site personnel

• Maintain accurate logs, delivery paperwork, and inspection records as required

• Assist with loading and unloading activities when necessary

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at job sites and during transport

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional vehicle appearance

• Represent The Kelly Group positively when interacting with customers, vendors, and the public

Qualifications and Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required

• Driving record acceptable to company insurer

• Previous experience hauling construction equipment or materials preferred

• Working knowledge of load securement practices

• Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts or assist with crane loading (preferred, not required)

• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Physically able to assist with loading, securing, and unloading materials

• Strong communication and time-management skills

Work Environment

• Combination of driving, outdoor job site exposure, and warehouse or yard work

• Exposure to varying weather conditions

• Occasional physical labor associated with loading and securing materials
