Production Worker / Forklift Operator (Roll Tender)

Salary: $20.00 to $22.00
A well-established printing company in the East End is looking for a Production Worker / Forklift Operator (Roll Tender) to join their production team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring client jobs are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards, while supporting the 1st and 2nd Press Operators with machinery and equipment operation.
Required skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a production environment
- Forklift operating experience required
- Previous experience in a commercial printing environment is a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
- Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy materials
- Manual dexterity to safely operate, control, and adjust press equipment
- Comfortable working rotating shifts
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Review job dockets to ensure all instructions are understood and met prior to production runs
- Maintain adequate ink and fountain solution supplies, and ensure paper rolls are properly prepared and mounted to support continuous press operation
- Perform all setup tasks as directed by the Press Operator(s), including plate installation, loading the correct stock, verifying web leads, and assisting with the setup of ancillary equipment
- Monitor production at regular intervals to ensure the highest standards of quality control are maintained
- Complete all required documentation related to cost tracking and operational efficiency
- Manage and complete necessary paperwork, including quality checks and assurance testing
- Ensure finished products are transferred efficiently and on time to the next stage of production
- Communicate any equipment issues, defects, or safety hazards to the Press Operator promptly
- Participate in pressroom meetings while consistently adhering to all safety and quality standards
Wage: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour depending on experience
Schedule:
12-hour, rotating shifts;
- Monday to Wednesday from 6 am - 6 pm
- Sunday to Tuesday from 6 pm - 6 am
- One week OFF
- Thursday to Sunday from 6 am - 6 pm
- Wednesday to Friday from 6 pm - 6 am
