Position SummaryWe are seeking a Safety Painter / Industrial Painter to support safety-focused painting projects in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, coatings, and safety markings (including lines and symbols) to improve workplace organization, traffic flow, and compliance with OSHA and safety standards. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial or manufacturing painting, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and masking.
Mix, match, and apply paint and coatings using pressure nozzles and other equipment.
Apply safety markings such as lines, symbols, and designated zones on floors and structures.
Perform touch-ups, burnishing, and retouching to maintain high-quality finishes.
Clean surfaces between layers and ensure proper drying times.
Inspect painted areas and complete required production and inspection documentation.
Operate forklifts or overhead cranes to transport materials and structures (as assigned).
Accurately clock in/out and track tasks using SAP or other production systems.
Follow 5S principles and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, or process anomalies to supervisors.
Attend required safety and skills training.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 6 months experience in manufacturing, industrial painting, assembly, or related environments.
Experience with:
Industrial or safety painting
Surface preparation
Pressure nozzle paint systems
Reading drawings and paint specifications
Using DFT gauges (preferred)
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, understand, and communicate instructions in English.
Ability to lift 20–80 lbs regularly.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to work safely in noisy, dusty, indoor/outdoor manufacturing environments and extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to wear required PPE for the duration of the shift.
Ability to respond quickly to hazards and work safely around equipment and moving machinery.
Strict adherence to OSHA, state, federal, and company safety standards.
Proper handling and disposal of chemicals and waste in accordance with MSDS and company procedures.
Commitment to environmental responsibility and waste reduction.
