Position Summary The primary responsibility of the Storm Site Coordinator is to serve as GOC’s on-site representative at assigned storm response locations. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant fueling operations during storm events. The Site Coordinator will liaise with contractor site management, oversee fueling logistics, supervise assigned drivers and helpers, enforce safety policies, and ensure accurate reporting of all fueling activities.
This position is temporary and assigned on an as-needed basis during storm response events.
The Storm Site Coordinator will perform duties including, but not limited to, the following:
Arrive on-site a minimum of 5 hours prior to the scheduled fueling start time.
Serve as the primary GOC point of contact for Duke Energy’s site manager and logistics lead.
Confirm the approved fueling method (stationary, drive-by, or wet-hosing) and establish the fueling layout.
Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met, including proper staging of spill kits and DEF.
Communicate expectations, schedules, and procedures to all assigned drivers and helpers.
Maintain accountability for drivers and helpers, ensuring they are reachable and available 24/7 until officially released.
Enforce site conduct rules, including approved lodging, travel, and availability requirements.
Supervise fueling operations to ensure compliance with company and site policies.
Verify that all fuel dispensed is accurately logged in the Pronto app.
Report nightly fueling totals and site updates to the Event Coordinator.
The Site Coordinator is responsible for enforcing strict fueling and safety compliance, including:
No fueling of personal vehicles.
Enforcement of spill-free fueling practices; all spills must be reported immediately.
Ensuring light towers, generators, and support equipment are fueled as required.
Confirming all drivers and helpers comply with PPE requirements:
High-visibility vest
Safety glasses
Steel-toe shoes
No shorts permitted
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Event Coordinator.
Conduct all duties in a safe, professional manner and in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
Mandatory compliance with all safety training and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
