Express Employment Professionals is partnered with a local bank in the Morris area to identify a Commercial Loan Assistant. This role supports the Commercial Lending team by assisting with the processing, documentation, and servicing of commercial loans. The Commercial Loan Assistant helps ensure loan files are accurate, compliant, and well-maintained while providing excellent service to both internal teams and external clients throughout the loan life-cycle.
Assist commercial loan officers with collecting and reviewing required documentation, financial statements, and credit information
Prepare loan documents and coordinate closings with title companies and attorneys
Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and ready prior to funding and booking
Input and update loan data in the bank’s core systems with a high level of accuracy
Monitor loan files for completeness and compliance with internal policies and federal/state regulations, including UCC filings, flood certifications, and insurance documentation
Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries regarding loan status, payments, and general account questions
Communicate professionally with clients to follow up on missing or expired documentation
Provide administrative support to loan officers, including correspondence, scheduling, and appointment coordination
Generate reports such as past-due and maturity reports
Organize and maintain both physical and digital loan files
Process loan advances, paydowns, and payments as requested by customers
Assist with general ledger balancing and wire transfer requests
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred
Experience: One to three years of experience in a financial institution, loan operations, or an administrative support role preferred; commercial loan documentation experience is a plus
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn loan processing systems
