Express Employment Professionals is working with a local Property Manager to directly hire a Maintenance Technician.

 

Job Title:  Building Maintenance Technician - Day Shift

 

Hours and Wages:  Day shift - flexible start time of 7-4p, 8-5p or 7:30-4:30P

                                Wages are based on experience - $22-$28 per hour

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of a large apartment community. This role ensures that residential units, common areas, and building systems are safe, functional, and well-maintained, while providing excellent service to residents in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on apartments, common areas, and building systems

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, including emergency calls

• Diagnose and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring

• Prepare apartments for new residents, including make-ready and turnover work

• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify needed repairs or safety concerns

• Maintain compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards

• Assist with seasonal maintenance tasks such as snow removal or landscaping support as needed

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and complete work orders using property management software

• Communicate professionally with residents, management, and vendors

• Support contractors and vendors during on-site work when required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in multi-family, commercial, or related settings preferred

• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance

• Ability to read work orders, manuals, and safety guidelines

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
