A well-established operation is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop activities and perform hands-on maintenance and repairs. This role requires a working leader who can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while guiding shop workflow and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
The Shop Foreman is responsible for leading day-to-day shop operations while remaining actively involved in repairs and maintenance. This position requires strong technical skills in welding, electrical work, and mechanical troubleshooting, along with the ability to diagnose and repair issues on trucks and cargo tanks. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.
Supervise daily shop operations and coordinate workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers, and cargo tanks.
Weld (MIG/TIG/Stick as applicable) and fabricate components as needed.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including running wires and diagnosing electrical faults.
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance performed.
Lead by example in safety practices and proper use of tools and equipment.
Communicate effectively with management regarding equipment condition, repair needs, and scheduling.
Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Lead Mechanic, or Senior Technician.
Strong welding experience (structural and repair welding).
Electrical experience, including running wires and troubleshooting systems.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
Experience working on commercial trucks, trailers, or tank equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a shop environment.
Experience working with DOT-regulated equipment.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
Leadership or supervisory experience in a shop setting.
$28/hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Stable schedule, no weekends
