R&D Electromechanical Technician

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineering Technician / Electromechanical Technician to support the construction, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electric motors, stators, and electrical machines, particularly permanent magnet motors.
This role plays a key part in prototype development, motor testing, automation support, and electrical system troubleshooting. The technician will work with electrical and electronic components, motion control systems, instrumentation, PLC systems, HMI interfaces, and machine tool numerical controls, applying principles of electrical circuitry, electronics, engineering mathematics, and physics.
The ideal candidate has experience working in electrical testing, motor assembly, prototype builds, controls systems, and industrial automation environments.
Key Responsibilities
Safety

Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Follow required safety precautions when working with high electrical voltage systems.
Technical Documentation & System Interpretation
Ability to read, interpret, and understand:

Process Development & Prototype Construction
-
Develop and implement processes for building and testing electric motor prototypes and electrical components based on engineering specifications.

Construct prototype electrical motors and components according to technical requirements.

Develop and document work instructions for prototype assembly and testing procedures.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers and internal teams.
-
Conduct testing, analysis, and assessments of electrical systems and repairs to ensure quality standards are met.

Maintain proper use and storage of electrical testing equipment and tools.

Collaborate with machine operators, engineers, and external vendors on technical projects.
-
Order or reorder consumables and spare parts when required.
-
Service, repair, calibrate, regulate, fine-tune, or test electrical machines, devices, and equipment.

Support automation and process improvement initiatives requiring electrical and electronics expertise.
Equipment Installation, Controls, and Modifications

Fabricate, install, relocate, or modify electrical equipment and machinery.

Calculate and lay out electrical and mechanical components.

Design electrical control systems and control panels.
-
Perform panel wiring and control panel design.

Write and modify program code for automation systems.

Validate system operation and ensure proper performance.

Train machine operators on new equipment or systems.

Create 3D parts and technical drawings using SolidWorks.

Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to resolve design or operational challenges.

Required Qualifications
Education / Training

High school diploma plus specialized training, certification, or a two-year technical degree in electrical engineering technology, electronics, automation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
