We are looking for a Commercial Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of trucks and trailers. This role requires someone who is mechanically inclined, experienced with diesel equipment, and confident working independently. Formal schooling or certifications aren’t required — what matters most is real-world competency and the ability to keep vehicles safe, reliable, and DOT compliant.
Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on trucks and trailers (oil changes, filters, fluid checks, alignments).
Inspect, repair, and replace brake systems (air brakes, hydraulic systems, disc/drum).
Handle tire work, including replacements, rotations, puncture repairs, and rim service.
Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues such as lighting, wiring, fuses, and switches.
Troubleshoot and repair engine, transmission, drivetrain, and suspension issues.
Complete DOT-required inspections and ensure vehicles meet compliance standards.
Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and parts used.
Follow all safety protocols and use PPE at all times.
Keep vehicles in compliance with DOT standards.
Perform regular safety checks to identify and address issues proactively.
Manage repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize fleet availability.
Maintain tools and shop equipment in good working order.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and drivers about repair needs and vehicle readiness.
Respond to occasional roadside breakdowns when needed.
Demonstrated hands-on experience working on diesel trucks and trailers.
Solid understanding of brakes, hydraulics, suspension, and drivetrains.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair 12V/24V electrical systems.
Knowledge of DOT safety and compliance standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Reliable, safety-conscious, and organized.
Valid driver’s license.
CDL (Class A or B).
Welding or fabrication ability.
Previous experience with fleet maintenance in a trucking or logistics environment.
Shop-based role with occasional roadside repair work.
Exposure to grease, oil, solvents, noise, and fumes.
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs+).
Flexible schedule and overtime may be required during busy seasons.
