Mechanical Assembler

Located in Carol Stream, IL

An established manufacturer is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Assembler  to join its team. This position involves the installation of commercial door components, accurate order handling, and packaging of materials. Ideal candidates will have experience in hardware installation, metal fabrication, or a similar trade, with the ability to work independently and meet physical demands in a production or construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install hardware for commercial door assemblies, including but not limited to:

  • Panic devices

  • Entry trim

  • Continuous hinges

  • Kick plates and additional components

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions

• Receive, pick, bundle, package, and label materials for customer orders

• Perform custom packaging as required by specific jobs

• Measure materials accurately (to 1/16") and perform basic math functions

• Operate safely in a warehouse or shop environment with minimal supervision

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or Silver Certificate required

• Prior experience with hardware installation, metal fabrication, or door assembly

• Experience in the commercial construction industry is a plus

• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring tools accurately

• Comfortable with basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide)

• Strong attention to detail and self-motivated work ethic

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly (approx. 30% of the time)

• Capable of standing, walking, and performing repetitive tasks for the entire shift

• Must be able to kneel, bend, and move materials as required
