Express Employment Professionals is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to support a precision manufacturing client. This role is critical in ensuring raw materials and finished products meet strict quality and dimensional standards through inspections and testing at various stages of production.
Incoming Material Inspection:Inspect raw materials (metals, plastics, composites) for quality and compliance with purchase orders and engineering specifications before production.
In-Process Inspection:Monitor fabrication processes and perform inspections to verify parts conform to drawings and specifications. Measure critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools. Identify visual defects such as cracks, warping, or improper welds.
Final Inspection:Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet tolerances, surface finish, and internal/customer quality standards.
Testing and Documentation:Perform mechanical tests as required (hardness, tensile, etc.). Document inspection results, report non-conformances, and maintain quality assurance traceability.
Non-Conformance Management:Identify and document defects, collaborate on root cause analysis, and track corrective actions through re-inspections.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement:Assist in developing and implementing quality procedures and participate in improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma. Suggest process or design improvements to enhance quality and reduce defects.
Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with production teams, supervisors, and engineering/design personnel to ensure compliance and facilitate process improvements.
Precision measurement skills with calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), height gauges, and other inspection tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Familiarity with quality management systems and corrective action processes preferred
Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or metalworking environments is a plus
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), or Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)
OSHA Safety Certification (10-hour or 30-hour general industry safety training)
