Process Technician

Located in Brighton, MI

Salary: $19-21/hr

Express Employment is seeking a Process Technician for an injection mold facility in Brighton, MI. This contract to hire position on 3rd shift with training on 1st shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and troubleshoot injection molding machines and related equipment
• Perform tool tryouts and full setup procedures
• Ensure proper mold settings, including watertight fittings, hydraulic connections, knockout rods, and clamps
• Review and conduct preventive maintenance and minor tool repairs
• Supervise and support machine operators and shift staff
• Ensure all materials used match product specifications
• Process presses to obtain first-piece approval from Quality Control
• Prepare operator setups including packaging, prints, and release numbers
• Report daily production data accurately and on time
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with housekeeping standards
• Promote a safe working environment by using machines and hand tools responsibly
• Communicate all quality, safety, and production concerns to the Molding Manager
• Participate in training and cross-functional production duties as required

Requirements:

• Experience: Prior experience with injection molding machine setup and troubleshooting required
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools
• Mathematics: Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Communication: Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; blueprint reading is a plus
• Teamwork: Works well with others and adapts to changes in workflow or environment
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand for long periods
• Frequent reaching, bending, and lifting required
• Capable of lifting above-average weights as needed (reasonable accommodations can be made)
