Join a dynamic and growing accounting firm in Orleans as a 1-year contract Administrative Assistant, with the potential to become a permanent member of the team! Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide exceptional support to their team during a maternity leave.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a small, professional accounting firm and contribute to the success of their clients.
Required skills and qualifications:
- 1-2+ years of administrative experience in a professional setting
- A customer-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles is a plus, but not essential
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based settings
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak periods like tax season
- Proficiency in multiple languages is an asset, but not required
Assets:
- Previous bookkeeping experience is highly valued
- Familiarity with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Online and Sage
- Experience working in an accounting firm or similar environment
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as Business Administration, Commerce, or Accounting
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare, format, and proofread documents for accuracy and quality
- Maintain organized filing systems for easy retrieval and compliance
- Answer and respond to incoming calls and emails from clients in a timely and professional manner
- Redirect calls and emails to relevant team members as needed
- Submit documents to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on behalf of clients
- Correspond with the CRA to resolve client file issues and provide updates
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and courier services efficiently
- Update client information in the CRM system to ensure data accuracy and relevance
- Provide administrative assistance to management and the team as needed
- Perform other administrative tasks to support the team's productivity and efficiency

Hourly Rate: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, with some flexibility in scheduling once trained
