On behalf of our client, a leading asphalt facility, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Facility Operator to support daily operations, maintenance, and safety at the site. This role requires a hands-on individual with mechanical aptitude, strong safety awareness, and the ability to manage small projects within a technically demanding environment.
The Facility Operator will assist with product transfers, production tasks, equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality control activities. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, operating heavy equipment, and maintaining facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Manage small projects, including:
Product transfers and production processes
Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of pumps, valves, and related equipment
Testing of system safety devices
Periodic inspections of tanks, valves, piping, and other facility infrastructure
Perform duties assigned by the Facility Manager and Lead Operator
Input and manage data using computer systems accurately
Safely perform labor-intensive tasks, including loading semi-trucks with liquid asphalt
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, long sleeves, protective clothing, and work boots
Navigate facility infrastructure, including spiral tank stairs and working at various elevations
Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as required
Be available for flexible work hours and on-call after-hours support as needed
Minimum 2 years of construction, maintenance, or operations experience in refined products, bulk storage terminals, pipeline operations, or oil and gas industries
Basic mechanical and/or electrical knowledge
Basic math skills sufficient to perform job tasks accurately
Valid driver’s license
Ability to safely negotiate and work around piping at grade and elevated levels
Strong commitment to safety and following protocols
Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call for emergencies
Ability to perform physically demanding labor-intensive tasks
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Able to climb stairs, negotiate elevated work areas, and work in confined spaces as necessary
