Insurance Collections Representative ($20.69 Per hour)

Monday to Friday

8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Express Employment Professionals in Miami Dade South is currently hiring candidates with insurance collections experience for a local hospital in the Kendall area. Candidates will be responsible for the follow-up to insurance companies and patients to obtain payment of accounts.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Telephone insurance companies for follow-up and collect payments within the established time frame.
• Contact patients to seek their assistance to obtain account resolution/payment
• Inform management of those payors who are causing reimbursement delays and report all contract discrepancies to the appropriate level of management.
• Work the number of accounts established in the department's Standard Operating Procedures. Document all action taken on patient accounts and use the proper collector activity code.
• Escalates unresolved accounts to the insurance upper management in order to experiential reimbursement.
• Utilize computer-based work list to resolve e accounts utilizing all available systems to obtain claim status, such as WEB MD, Availity, etc. Ensures that all documentation required by the insurance carrier for payment is resubmitted utilizing the tools available. Review incoming correspondence and take the corrective action required also responding to any insurance and patient inquiries timely.
• Understand and analyze the various managed care contracts and the various CPT, HCPCS, DRG codes in order to ensure proper reimbursement.

Qualifications:

• Must operate a 10-key calculator
• Excellent communications skills; both written and verbal
• Detailed oriented, problem solver, good math skills.
• Microsoft experience preferred
• Proficiency in managed care terminology and reimbursement
• Minimum of 2 years experience
