Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

Located in Dixon, CA

Salary: $21.00 - $22.00

Company in Dixon seeking 2nd Shift Forklift Operators to help support departments with the movement of materials and products, including taking part in warehouse organizing and finished goods inspection, taking the product off the production line and putting it away in designated locations in the warehouse, loading and unloading customer trucks. Forklift Operators also fill in for other jobs in the plant (e.g., Machine Operator) as business needs dictate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform pre-shift forklift inspections on the forklift
• Record preventative maintenance activities, quality inspection data, equipment downtime, production output, and other vital metrics, performing mathematical calculations as needed
• Safely operate a propane sit-down forklift to move raw materials or finished products throughout the manufacturing floor, which includes, but is not limited to, keeping the production line clear and running and keeping product and raw materials properly stored
• Visually inspect material for quality defects; Segregate defective product and notify supervisor
• Fill dumpsters from production floor; Housekeeping of plant (inside and out)
• Work as a team with the production and shipping team to follow all facility Standard Works/processes, and improve operations
• Support the recycling area, when needed, and help to keep it organized
• Fill in on other areas of the plant (e.g., Machine Operator) as required
• Assists forklift operator II as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
• Highly motivated with a good, sound work ethic
• Prior experience operating a sit-down propane forklift or other mobile equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks)
• Must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills
• Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator
• Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers)
• Team player able to follow instructions from both management and peers
• Ability to learn and operate new equipment
