Material Handler

 

A Clackamas based company is seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our team. 

Express is actively hiring a Material Handler for a lumber yard. This position has a variety of responsibilities in the Mill Room, including moving materials between departments, a small amount of order pulling, and general warehouse work; may assist with delivery of millwork, and using a sit-down forklift. The right candidate should have strong soft skills, including punctuality, a positive attitude, and good interpersonal skills.

 

Pay Rate: $19.00 an hour.

 

Shift/Hours: Day Shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform all tasks associated with production equipment in a safe manner, keeping quality and efficiency in mind.
• Physically handle materials used to construct components and finished products to ensure movement of such items is optimized; lifts, carries, stacks items as needed.
• Record movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies and verifies the accuracy of work performed by self and other material handlers.
• Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, some of which may require specialized training.
• Assist in providing training and guidance to less experienced material handlers.
• Cleaning and organizing the warehouse and yard.
• Move product around the yard and mill room as needed.
• Having good Customer Service while in the yard.
• Assist in help of database management of product.
• Use hand and power tools to cut lumber to specifications.
• Other duties as assigned. 

What we look for in a Production Technician:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Sit-Down Forklift experience (+3 months)
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, grab, etc. for 8+ hours a shift.
