The Specialized Recruiting Group is now partnered with a manufacturing company in the Columbus, Indiana area to help them hire their next Purchasing Manager.  

 

Job Description:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing all activities within the purchasing department including selecting key suppliers, handling negotiations on everything from contracts to pricing and participating in continuous improvement activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all purchasing for the plant including materials and all services.
• Work closely with other teams to resolve any quality or customer service issues
• Negotiate with suppliers and ensure timely delivery.
• Lead purchasing team to meet established objectives

Experience:

• Previous purchasing experience for a manufacturing environment is required.
• Leadership experience is a must, and experience leading others on a purchasing team is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in related area is a huge plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and suppliers.
• Detail-oriented with Microsoft Office experience

• Adaptability, reliability, and time management.
• Initiative and decision-making confidence.

Schedule and Location:

• Full-time, on-site, first shift position

 

Salary: $60-$70k, commensurate with experience
