Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm – In-office position

About the Position: Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a dedicated Leave of Absence Coordinator to join our client, a leading organization in the sports and live entertainment industry known for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will manage employee leave requests, ensure compliance with regulations, and coordinate benefits administration.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding leave of absence requests and coordinate with supervisors
  • Ensure adherence to state regulations and accurate processing of leave payments
  • Monitor and address issues with external administrators for both unionized and non-unionized staff, working with site management, HR, Benefits, and Payroll departments
  • Respond to benefits-related inquiries from vendors and HR partners, providing clear and accurate information
  • Oversee the administration of Short Term Disability benefits, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of U.S. benefits communications, including managing mail merges and conducting site training as necessary
  • Maintain up-to-date records of summary plan descriptions and associated documentation
  • Support the 401(k) loan administration and portal corrections, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Process life insurance claims and provide guidance to beneficiaries throughout the claims process
  • Coordinate life and LTD benefit conversions for departing employees
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees on benefits and enrollment inquiries
  • Handle employment verification and benefits coordination requests efficiently
  • Play a key role in the Open Enrollment process, including system testing, preparing communication materials, and conducting educational sessions
  • Audit and verify reports from third-party vendors to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Analyze and reconcile monthly enrollment and deduction data with benefits invoicing and funding processes
  • Document internal workflow processes and propose enhancements to the Benefits Manager for improved efficiency
  • Regularly review and verify employment records to ensure accuracy and completeness


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 1-2 years’ experience in benefits, leave of absence administration, or HR process administration required
  • Highly compliance-driven role, suitable for candidates with audit or regulatory backgrounds in finance
  • Familiarity with ADP reporting and HRIS systems preferred
  • General understanding and knowledge of benefits, compensation laws and regulations, workers compensation, and other applicable leave of absence legislation
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence to communicate effectively with employees during challenging times
  • Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, confidence, and ability to manage tasks independently
