A Hardware Store in Proctorville is looking for an experienced Sales Associate.  This is a PT position.  Pay rate is based on experience.  Work Days are Monday- Friday (with possible weekend work).

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Associates/ Cashier

• Provide prompt and courteous customer service by engaging the customer, determining their needs, and suggesting project requirements. Be attentive, polite and smile.
• Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise as arranged by management.
• Execute daily operational goals and priorities with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Restock merchandise displays, mix paint, cut keys, remove promotional bin tags from displays and price tags as required following sales events.
• Handle transfers and special orders for all non-stock items.
• Clean, neaten and organize products as assigned.
• Demonstrate the S.A.L.E.S. process
• Assist customers with simple complaints/concerns; get a manager involved with problems as needed..
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertising to inform customers about special sales and events.
• Actively participate in store communications, initiatives, and daily huddle.
• Assist in the training and development of peers.
• Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance. Wear your red vest, name tag, radio, and headset to efficiently communicate with sales team and management.
• • Verify the accuracy of the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift. Immediately notify management of any inaccuracies.
  • Precisely and accurately handle money, checks, and other types of payment received for products sold including processing refunds and/or issuing store merchandise credit.
  • Perform credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, personal check acceptance, vendor check-in transactions in accordance with company standards and policies.
  • Greet customers entering the store and thank them for shopping with us upon their exit.
  • Answer the phone using a polite and helpful demeanor. Transfer calls to the appropriate department.
  • Be knowledgeable and actively participate in all sales promotions and campaigns. Engage customer to ensure they are receiving all the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member and actively recruit participants by informing and enrolling new customers in the program.
  • Practice suggestive selling and build customer relations.
• Other duties, as assigned.
