Our client, one of the largest supplier of building products, is looking for a Warehouse/Yard Associate to join their growing team in Newton!

Must be comfortable working OUTSIDE and dealing with weather and elements

Pay: $22.00/HR

Schedule: 8 Hour Shift between the hours of 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM - Company is open Monday-Sunday, so your schedule will change - Must be able to work weekends

Responsibilities of the Warehouse/Yard Associate:

• Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles
• Performs load building - which includes determining the correct weight, composition and placement based on customer order and vehicle
• Read and follow work orders to determine materials to be moved or loaded
• Move materials to and from storage to designated area using hand truck, pallet jack or forklift
• Open containers, units, slings and loads using steel cutters, crowbars or other hand tools
• Attaching labels or identifying tags to materials
• Lifting heavy objects by hand or power hoist
• Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers - Must attend periodic safety meetings as required

Qualifications and Experience of the Warehouse/Yard Associate:

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar Yard and/or Warehouse role
• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift Certified preferred
• Must pass a drug test
• Ability to use hand tools
• Knowledge of company products
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks
• Be able to count items and verify against prepared lists
• Knowledge of safety procedures when operating Forklift and other material handling tasks
• Ability to work outside and handle heavy lifting up to 100 pounds
