The Elevator Operator is an entry-level role supporting elevator operations, working under the supervision of Level II or Level III Operators. Responsible for learning and adhering to safety protocols, operational procedures, and customer service standards. This role involves basic equipment operation and grain handling tasks.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in dumping grain, loading railcars or trucks, and cleaning grain spills.
• Collect grain samples and maintain records of inspections.
• Conduct visual inspections for insects, moisture, and foreign materials during grain unloading.
• Ensure cleanliness and compliance with safety regulations in elevator facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment as directed.
• Support customer service activities, including loading purchases and providing assistance as needed.
• Operate grain scale and assist with yard maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve company objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
• Capacity to lift and move heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
• Willingness to undergo training and pursue continuing education opportunities.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires frequent physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of over 100 pounds.
• Climbing ladders and stairs may be necessary.
• Must possess good vision and manual dexterity.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Exposure to various weather conditions and potential hazards, including moving machinery and chemicals.
• Noise level may be loud at times.
