Basic Description:

   

 

Candidate will work as part of a cross functional marketing, engineering, and sales team to sell & support efforts on current & prospective Oxy-Fuel & Gas Products.  The candidate will also be responsible for driving overall growth for assigned product category.  They will create top-of-mind awareness and drive business opportunities targeting end-user customers and sales pull through our distributor partners in singularly and/or in conjunction with the ITW Welding Sales Team. In addition to bringing technical expertise to support the development of relatable messaging, participate in customer efforts, and represent the Smith brand to multiple market segments. Subject matter expertise will be relied upon by multiple parties to help drive sales, provide solutions, insights, and product demonstrations in the sales process. Chosen candidate will schedule and perform demonstrations and present the technical details as needed, answer customer questions and incorporate new and advanced features into these presentations as appropriate. Specialist will attend trade shows and participate in key company/customer meetings in conjunction and/or singularly with our Sales Teams.

Job Responsibilities:

   

 

·         “In house” industry expert for projects relating to metal cutting & gas products, support projects through all phases of development and throughout the product life cycle. This role will closely support ITW Welding Sales, Product and Market Segment manager functions.

·         Demonstrates deep product knowledge, acts as an internal resource for sales, marketing, and segment.

·         Establish relationships with the sales team, distribution channel, and end users to build understanding of the challenges experienced within the metal cutting & gas product markets.

·         Closely collaborate with sales through joint calls, demonstrations and training where new opportunities are identified and to defend key accounts.

·         Proactively takes action to increase awareness and drive usage and preference on Smith products, and services in collaboration with ITW Welding sales team.

·         Identify and support targeted opportunities within assigned market and/or accounts.

·         Collaborate with marketing team to generate customer facing content, promoting the value of our training solutions through media such as product campaigns, social media messaging, industry publications and the Miller website.

·         This role will actively support Sales, Engineers, Product Managers and Market Segment Managers.

·         Ability to understand the complexities of metal cutting and gas equipment to drive improvements in messaging and customer solutions.

·         Communicate and collaborate well with welding/cutting and “non-welding/cutting” professionals.

·         Actively monitor and understand competitive landscape within the metal cutting & gas product markets.

·         The ability to effectively manage an assigned territory by exhibiting an 80/20 decision making process

·         Develop and execute data driven sales strategies to drive profitable sales growth in support of the division's Long range & annual plans.  This includes prospecting, target account support/ownership, and working through key sales partners to execute overall sales strategy.

·         Effectively present product demos for customers and distributors.

·         Maintains CRM tracking of opportunities and end user account information.

·         Display an enterprise mindset through collaborative account planning with ITW Welding Sales and divisional teams to convert/earn end user business.

·         Manage a continuous pipeline of sales opportunities of new and expanded business opportunities; consistently tracking progress and moving opportunities forward

·         Strong value selling skills with the ability to convert new business
