Salary: $24.00/Hour

A business in Corunna has an opening for an Accounting Support/Payroll Administrator. This is a 12 – 14-month contract position.

 

Qualifications:

  • Possess strong attention to detail and effective task prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Exhibit dependability and the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively
  • Quick learner with proficiency in various Windows-based applications
  • Familiarity with HR, Payroll, and Time Keeping software preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Payroll and related accounting roles
  • Preference given to candidates with Payroll certification or actively pursuing certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to established health and safety protocols as a top priority
  • Review and validate HR paperwork against generated reports to maintain accurate records
  • Input transactions not processed through HR-Payroll systems
  • Import weekly hours for payroll processing and facilitate vendor communication
  • Calculate retroactive payments and manage rate adjustments as necessary
  • Monitor Collective Agreement/unions provisions to ensure prompt and accurate compensation
  • Generate reports on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis for departmental needs
  • Process manual checks and maintain accurate records of sick/vacation time per policies
  • Initiate approved stop payments, recalls, and cheque requests for deductions
  • Verify and submit Records of Employment (ROE’s) to Service Canada in a timely manner
  • Handle garnishment orders and associated deductions, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Perform reconciliation of deductions and promptly report any discrepancies to management
  • Prepare year-end T4's, addressing any discrepancies as they arise
  • Provide high-quality customer service to address employee inquiries and management needs

 

Wage: $24.00/hour
