The Specialized Recruiting Group is hiring a HR Generalist for a manufacturing company located in Johnson County. This is a direct-hire opportunity! 

HR Generalist Summary/Company Information: 

  • The HR Generalist manages the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefit administration, HRIS, reward management, and other Human Resources functions in collaboration with the HR Director
  • Primarily focus on employee recruiting and onboarding responsibilities
  • Responsible for handling the day-to-day benefits administration including plan enrollments, annual open enrollment, COBRA, and HRIS functions outside of payroll
  • Coordinates recruiting efforts for all hourly roles: coordinates approvals, writes and places advertisements, screens resumes, conducts initial interviews, schedules subsequent interviews, administers pre-employment tests, and extends offers
  • Maintains positive relationships with staffing and recruitment agencies
  • Manages and schedules new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
  • Handles all administrative/HRIS tasks associated with hiring, onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews
  • Supports benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, HSA, HRA, COBRA, Worker’s Compensation, and FMLA/leave administration.
  • Provides effective HR guidance to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and performance, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
  • Acts as the primary backup for biweekly payroll processing
  • Assists in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, and organizational chart and contributes to policy development
  • Conducts exit and retention interviews, as directed
  • Administers and maintains various activities designed to achieve and sustain a high level of employee morale and engagement
  • Promptly responds to employee issues, utilizing proper escalation when necessary.
  • Maintains employee training record, security badge systems, and timecard badges
  • Identifies HR/employee issues and works closely with HR Director to resolve in a timely manner
  • Coordinates employee engagement plans and activities
  • Assists with Lean and Training/Development initiatives as requested
  • Assists with annual benefit audits and IRS filings related to both group insurance plans and 401K retirement plan

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM


  • Associate’s or Bachelor''s degree in HR Management or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in HR, recruiting and benefit administration
  • Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel), Paycom or other payroll & HRIS, and MS Windows
  • Effective communication, presentation and people skills and a customer-focused attitude
  • Energetic, proactive manner and action-oriented behavior
  • Outstanding organization skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn, ability to problem solve, and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to work well independently as well as on a team
