Shining Star Director

Location: Buhler, Kansas

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• KDHE Child Care Center Program Director licensure (eligibility to be determined; licensure must be obtained before the first day)
• Willingness to learn, accept change, and be creative, a self-starter. 
• Good verbal communication and writing skills.
• Computer skills
• Ability to be sensitive to the needs of students.
• Ability to relate well with students and staff.
• Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations.

 

Essential Duties:

• Follow all KDHE Child Care Center regulations
• Communicate with support personnel and parents to assist in evaluating students' progress
• Maintain manual and electronic files/records for recording student information and meeting mandated requirements
• Hire, train, and supervise Aides in the Shining Star room
• Send billings, collect and receipt all fees, transfer funds to the school office for deposit, keep records to maintain accountability of funds
• Monitor students within a variety of school environments (restrooms, playgrounds, hallways, bus loading zone, cafeteria, parking lot, etc.) to maintain a safe and positive learning environment
• Provide information and reports as required to comply with state and local regulations
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relative to job functions
• Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with school district and community members
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information to remain in compliance with legal requirements and maintain a professional environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
